This morning we started preparing you for the Canada Day long weekend by updating the look of our blog sites in patriotic colours as well as letting you know about local activites happening on Canada Day.
These include Canada Day celebrations at the Sturgeon River House Museum and at the North Bay Waterfront. Click here for more details
1 Winner this morning as Darlene St-George was the monthly winner of the Literacy Alliance of West Nipissing trivia challenge. She won herself a $25 gift card from the New Sturgeon Builders' Supplies/Home Hardware. Thanks to Nanditta Colbear from the Alliance for helping us out with the draw this morning.
We also started a new contest that could send you and a friend to the CMT Music Festival in Burl's Creek (just North of Barrie)
Click here for CMT Festival line-up.
You'll have a chance to qualify for day passes again tomorrow by identifying the "Country-fied" song of the day...a familiar pop song done in a country style.
Box office numbers for the weekend looked like this:
1 - "Cars 2" - $68,000,000
2 - "Bad Teacher" - $31,000,000
3 - "Green Lantern" - $18,350,000
New movie coming out on Wednesday to challenge for the number 1 spot is "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"
Put that Canada flag up and wave it loudly and proudly as you enjoy the first full week of Summer.
