Another Twitter Twuesday come and gone. Here's hoping you're enjoying the leftovers from a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
We sent a special shout-out to the gang at RIV's Chipstand who closed up shop for the season yesterday for a well-earned rest until next Spring.
Our Literacy Alliance of West Nipissing Not So Impossible Trivia Challenge question this morning:
Which race invented the cloaking device in the Star trek series?
a. Humans
b. Medusans
c. Romulans
The correct answer was C- Romulans - congratulations to all who participated. Your names will all be entered into the monthly draw of a beautiful bird feeder and a bag of bird seed from our friends at Pet Valu.
Congratulations going out to Andre Goulard who correctly identified our "Double Speed Classic Clip" and won himself a goodie bag from the West Nipissing Fire Services.
Oct 9th-15th is Fire Prevention Week. The West Nipissing Fire Service recommends the following tips to protect families from fire:
• staying in the kitchen when cooking.
• It’s the law in Ontario to have working smoke alarms on every storey of the home and outside all sleeping areas. The fire department also recommends installing a smoke alarm in every bedroom. Test smoke alarms every month and change the batteries at least once a year or whenever the low battery warning chirps.
• Develop a home fire escape plan with your family so that everyone knows what do if a fire occurs
And finally, it's cheap movie night – the top 3 films in the country are playing in North Bay and Sudbury: Real Steel, The Ides of March and Dolphin Tale are all options tonight…
