Friday October 7th - Recap

Friday of the long weekend started off with a recap of 3 significant wins in West Nipissing:

- John Vanthoff was elected new member of provincial parliament last night with a 50.1% of the vote.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs kicked off the NHL season by blanking the Montreal Canadiens 2-0.
- The Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks won their 8th straight game by clobbering Algoma 14-0.

Our Moose Impossible Trivia question this morning was : 20 percent of married women say this is the #1 thing they would change in their lives......what is it?

Bill Gingras correctly guessed "their engagement/wedding rings".

We congratulated everyone at Franco-Cite for the wonderful effort and success of "Une Canne Ca Depanne" food drive for the West Nipissing Food Bank which saw them collect 20100 lbs of food to re-stock the shelves. Check out Facebook page for images from the event.

Finally, on this Thanksgiving weekend, we had everyone contribute thoughts on what they were thankful for this year and Stella Solomon's name was drawn as the random winner of a turkey from our friends at Don's Butcher Shop.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, enjoy the beautiful weather and company you'll be in.
